JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the design, implementation and execution of Process Engineering activities of Oryx GTL’s multiple demands are in compliance with Oryx GTL’s standards, policies and procedures in order to improve plant performance from a Process engineering standpoint.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Process Engineering Procurement Strategy

• Evaluate the procurement of Process Engineering resources and its related activities – from a technical aspect - whilst adhering to the Oryx GTL’s policies to ensure an effective delivery of quality goods and / or services in a cost effective manner.
• Evaluate the technical aspect of Process Engineering procurement activities and their related service providers through the request for proposal developments or competition invitation documents, as need be, in order to adhere to Oryx GTL’s needs.
• Assist in managing the search, initiation of contact and short listing process with regard to the technical aspect of the Process Engineering service providers in order to gain an in-depth understanding of their respective delivery capabilities.

Plant Performance

• Ensure the liaison of activities between the process engineering unit, the production unit and the various licensors are conducted with due diligence to quantify plant performance in order to achieve quality design performance.

Plant Process Engineering Non Performance

• Identify and troubleshoot various plant non performances in order to propose effective corrective measures through the necessary root cause analysis.

Process Engineering Quality Control

• Attest and montior contractors with regard to the design, implementation and execution of projects under purview in order to ensure alignment of the design intent with the expected quality standard engineering practices.

Process Engineering Business Development & Support

• Ensure the provision of support evaluations to the Business Development & Support (pre-feasibility), as well as, the process engineering (feasibility) business plans are carried out effectively to ensure proposals are based on appropriate assumptions and plant data.

Management Reporting

• Supervise the ongoing reporting to superiors in order to keep them abreast and informed with regard to the Process Engineering activities status, as requested.

Ad – hoc Analyses

• Supervise the analyses of various Process Engineering methodologies whereby the next best alternative is utilised in favour of Oryx GTL.

Process Engineering Service Level Agreement Mitigation

• Supervise the implementation of service levels agreements with various departments in order to ensure an effective communication and compliance with their respective needs.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products / services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification:

• BSc in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 – 7 years in a Process Engineering position with a working knowledge in the Oil & Gas Sector.
