Job Description:

  • Lead, manage and coordinate the Petroleum Engineering team to ensure that the petroleum engineering aspects of production and operation function are optimally aligned to the production targets and business objectives.
  • Primary accountability for well performance and integrity to deliver optimum productivity and recovery related to daily operations during the field life.
  • Evaluate and determine Inflow Well Performance trends and expectations noting any deviations and mitigating any detrimental impact on productivity and ultimate recovery.
  • Develop, update and utilize a field GAP/Nodal analysis capacity model to identify bottlenecks and optimize productivity as well as recovery.
  • Ensure integrity of production wells including tubulars, SSSV and wellhead valve maintenance.  Recommend any surveillance techniques needed to confirm acceptable erosion and corrosion rates. 
  • Monitor and evaluate well annulus pressures ensuring safe and environmentally compliant operations.
  • Ensure the dynamic model is updated and history matched as new data or performance dictates. Predict a viable range of recoveries to optimize reserves and economic performance in particular related to uncertainties such as aquifer influence, GIIP, etc. Recommend compression timing and compression parameters.  Predict timing of production plateau and of decline below MDQ.
  • Ensure any work has a proper risk assessment for any HSSE incident or potential for productivity impairment.
  • Evaluate data making recommendations for efficiency improvement and optimum future data acquisition frequency.
  • Primary accountability for the Field Reserves report and annual update.
  • Develop annual reserves maturation plan. Indicate reasoning for reserves movements converging on 2P.
  • Direct the preparation of the Subsurface Team function & departmental budgets and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory
  • performance are identified and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Prepare the one, five and ten year production forecast for internal, JV and government budgets. Utilize the appropriate technical basis integrated with commercial, finance and operations teams.
  • Take the lead in establishing technical workshops and networking with JVPs and regulators as required to ensure alignment and expedite approvals on reservoir models and reserves, production capacity, well counts, well rates, surveillance plans and budgets.
Job Requirements

Qualification:

-          Bachelor in Engineering preferably in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering. Master’s degree is an advantage.

-          15-20 years in the Petroleum Engineering field within the Oil & Gas industry.
