Division Engineer

Job Description:

Assist Dredging Division Manager with all aspects of project engineering management; division cost estimating, production tracking and estimating and project contract compliance.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Preliminary assessment of potential bid opportunities for compatibility with company’s resources. Contract and permit conditions review and assessment. Cost and Production Estimating. Oversee project engineering and hydrographic surveying. Production tracking Geotechnical, weather conditions and project site assessments.

  • Communications: ability to produce clear status reports, writes clearly, exhibits clear verbal skills.

  • Time Management: ability to manage competing priorities effectively, to be resourceful and to use time as a resource. 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years’ experience with project management in Project Engineering associated with clamshell and hopper dredging projects. Experience with contracts administration requirements for dredging projects. Corps of Engineers project experience preferred.
  • Language Ability: ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Reasoning Ability: must have a record of impartial, objective analysis, be able to identify possible solutions that are technically and conceptually sound.
  • Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and experience with HCSS, HyPack, CAD and hydrographic survey software.
  • Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence in the corporate office is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with the Operations team in order to properly perform job-related functions.
