Responsible for the health and safety of all personnel onboard, and for the protection of the environment.

The Master/OIM is expected to have the very highest standards of marine expertise, and should have a proven record of proficiency.

This is a challenging role that includes responsibility of the entire vessel. The Master ensures the vessel is fully operational and that the vessel’s gangway is safely operated within its limits.

The Master implements the company’s Safety Management System, and ensures compliance with the ISM Code and any other regulatory sector requirements, and contractual requirements.

The Master has to evaluate all situations, whether normal or emergency, and take effective actions to avoid or minimise any potential damages or losses, with special regard to life.
