Job Objective:
Handles the technical purchasing activities for vessels assigned to them and ensures that materials are supplied promptly and efficiently. Supports the ships’ Technical Superintendent in managing the vessel budget and ensuring the effectiveness of expenditure. Assesses and reports on the performance of suppliers and service providers. Supports the Company’s Supply Chain Management strategies to achieve the defined targets and goals.
Qualifications
Essential
Diploma/BE Marine OR Mechanical,
Desirable
Good Computer knowledge of MS Office, Windows Operating System
Experience
Essential
3+ years’ experience of purchasing or supply chain management in industry
, preferably with a shipping background. Sailing Experience as Second or Third Engineer will be given a preference.
Job-Specific Skills:
Good knowledge of vessels’ technical requirements and operational needs
Good knowledge of the suppliers and contractors required to support vessel operations
Very good communication and negotiation skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Fluency in English
Computer Literacy
