Identifying training and development needs of seafarers through
appraisal schemes and regular consultation with crewing
department and crew service centers
Designing , Developing and conducting training and development
programmers for Seafarers in office /Onboard based on both
Organization’s and Individual needs
Support development programmes with industry research , trend
analysis , and collecting information from vessels and incidents /
accidents analysis report
Maintenance of quality system
Visiting vessels for any assistance ,inspection ,training audits
,inspection etc. as may be required
Development of deck & engine cadets ashore and on-board the vessels and maintaining records
Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course lifecycle
Identifying opportunities for continuous process and relationship
improvements between training ,training materials fulfillment ,
documentation and technical writing
Auditing pre-sea training and maintaining records
Maintains the training database, with electronic records of all
courses completed by staff, with attendance, grades, final report
and so forth .Updates the database as required, but regularly. so
that current information is always available
Work Experience:
Total sea going experience on merchant ships of not less than
10 years which should include some experience as Chief
Engineer.
Job Specific Skills:
Very good knowledge of the training / teaching techniques
Knowledge of the new trends and concepts of training needs & requirement
Exposure in the development of seafarers professional & behavior competencies
Knowledge of the maritime training & development framework e.g.
.employers obligations, training perquisites etc.
Fluency in English
PC literacy
