| Job Description | Liaise with vessels on a regular basis to ensure their activities are being co-ordinated effectively and provide advice and guidance to Master and Chief Engineers on board |
| Monitoring statutory and classification surveys for all plant and equipment on board are carried out on time. |
| Assisting in Investigating machinery failures and any resulting insurance claims |
| Assisting in dealing with non-conformities covering technical procedures of the S.M.S both ashore and on ship. |
| Ensure conduct and follow up of PMS on vessels. |
| Studying and arranging the supply of spares parts and stores to vessels in liaison with Technical Director. |
| Ensure regular technical inspection of vessels and preparing detailed inspection report on company standard form. During vessel visits, carry out inspections of standards, supervise repairs and advise Contractors and ships’ staff during maintenance. |
| Ensure vessels’ operational status is maintained and it meets the standards required by statutory bodies and classification societies at all times. |
| Ensure regular technical reports are received from vessels in accordance with company policy and issue instructions relevant to the reports. |
| Liaise, negotiate and supervise dry-docking of vessels ensuring the process is co-ordinated effectively by involving vessel staff, managers, yards advising all of status and progress. Prepare dry-docking specifications in conjunction with the Technical Director, elicit and evaluate quotations and recommend shipyards. Ensure they are carried out correctly and comply with budgets and time limits and also to Statutory, Class and Company satisfaction. On completion, prepare archive reports. |
