Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagment, a reputed global
shipmanagement company is looking for a
Superintendent for its Regulatory Support Centre in
Mumbai.
Location: The incumbent will be based in Mumbai.
Reporting: The position reports to the Head of the Regulatory
compliance centre.
Key Accountabilities:
As part of the Regulatory Compliance Centre Team, the incumbent will
assist in:
Maintenance and continuous improvement of the
company’s quality management documentation system
based on internal and external feedbacks.
Providing support in all regulatory and compliance
issues to the group.
Preparation and dissemination of key information to
offices and ships such as alerts, safety bulletins
(advisories and notifications), policy notes.
Running the Experience Feedback mechanism.
Generation and consolidation of Group Statistics.
Carrying out Accident Incident Investigation / Root cause
analysis and review of such reports.
Development of new modules applying Technological
solutions/innovations.
Develop audit plans and centrally coordinate audits of
vessels with a view to verifying system and operational
compliance.
Auditing /inspection of vessels as and when required,
including Training.
Providing support on any security issues, providing
security alerts.
Identifying overall areas of improvement continually l in
a systematic manner with a view to mitigate risks in safe
ships operation.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
Work Experience:
At least two years’ experience as Superintendent with
experience in the areas mentioned above (under
accountabilities). Tanker ship type experience including
knowledge of oil major requirements will be an added
advantage.
Good knowledge & understanding of systems,
procedures, rules and regulations.
Job-Specific Skills:
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all
offices and shipboard personnel using good
interpersonal and communication skills.
Good knowledge on interpretation and application of
relevant industry codes, standards and conventions, e.g.
MARPOL, SOLAS, STCW, MLC, ISO14001, OHSAS18001,
TMSA Guidelines, ISM and ISPS Codes.
System documentation writing (policies procedures,
guidance notes, instructions).
Fully familiar with auditing of systems, on-board training
techniques and reasonable idea of vessel inspections
including reporting thereof.
Good analytical mind with an eye to bring out issues or
areas of concern including underlying root causes and
providing solutions.
Motivational in approach & quickness of response.
Good Fluency in English (speaking and report writing)
Very good PC literacy
