DRY DOCK MANAGER TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT Key Responsibilities: Corporate Responsibilities
- Be guided by our Group Vision, Mission, Values and KPIs: Develop, implement and drive long term and short-term strategy for improved and cost-effective vessel condition and operational performance.
- Responsible for all vessel's Drydocking, Major layup repairs, new equipment installations - regulatory or company specific, and any major projects, including new building projects.
- Technical Strategies towards building Technical competence, augment Skills, Personality, Attitude, Work / Safety Culture and Risk Perception for the planning and execution of large projects within the Technical team.
- Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders within BW Epic Kosan, Sea staff, Statutory organizations, Clients and 3rd party service providers.
- Layup repair projects:
- Responsible for the Repair budget projection, considering vessel's age, company docking policy, new regulatory requirements, and intended location.
- Responsible in co-ordination with the Ship Manager for the planning, execution, cost / time monitoring, selection of contracting repair yard / company to ensure projects are carried out in a cost-effective, consistent and uniform manner with minimal downtime.
- Responsible for visiting / sailing with vessels to draw up the Repair Specification in collaboration with Ship Manager, Marine assurance department, IT department, considering compliance to new Statutory requirements and Commercial client requirements.
- Responsible for attending the layup repairs and the overall repair project execution, monitoring of cost and time, and final invoice settlement with shipyard in line with identified KPIs.
- Responsible for efficient logistical arrangements and spares scheduling for cost effective logistic costs in co-ordination with Ship manager and Procurement team.
- Processes and System efficiency:
- Develop Drydock process and procedures to cover Technical and Safety aspects.
- Develop and maintain a database of project costs, repair locations, towards intelligent data mining.
- Develop and maintain a software for standardized Repair Specification, Quotes comparison, work progress tracking and final invoicing.
- Review the overall project on completion with learnings for incremental internal system improvement and future project planning.
- Suggest Drydock ERP improvements to make the docking procedure efficient and intuitive to have improved project overview and decision making. To support the Fleet Systems team on the ERP development, drawing up Change requests scope, End User testing (UAT), review product upgrades.
- Training Content Development:
- Develop Training modules for Seafarers for improved seafarer awareness, improved planning and performance during repairs.
- Participate in Crew Seminars for closer interaction with Seafarers to drive overall repair performance.
- Develop Training for Office staff for improved specification building, cost comparison, and invoicing.

REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent disciplines, preferably with a minimum of 2 years of sailing experience as a 2nd Engineer.
- Experience in handling extensive layup repair projects for 2 years
- Technologically driven, comfortable working in a digital environment, logical process development.
- Ability to travel at short notice - and manage a 24/7 on call lifestyle (outside vacations).
- An in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations governing vessels' management.
- Committed and responsible in meeting deadlines with excellent time management skills.
- Independent, outcome driven, organized and resourceful.
- Strong team orientation and has the ability to manage cross-functional relationships in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
